Skill Set Guide
TestOn Ravare there is no set "classes" or "professions" available to choose from. Instead you develop skill sets that cover everything you do within Ravare. This system can be compared easily to games like Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Runescape, and somewhat RIFT. Below will be a simple detailing of how this functions if you are looking for a more complex explanation look here. (May take some time before this is an available guide.)
What are Skill Sets?
TestSkill Sets are a mechanic used to measure the experience a player has in a certain skill such as Tailoring, Hand-to-Hand, or even Singing. To the average player Skill Sets are useful to help you understand where your character is developmentally and how far they are from whatever goal they have for that character. To a staff member however they help us plan out what events your character, and it's potential party, can handle without being too easy or too hard. Being that there is as many utility Skill Sets as there are combat ones you can develop your character easily without having to get into any combat scenarios. However, sometimes these may be forced upon you by the staff or even another player so we advise having some skill in at least one or two combat based Skill Sets.
Experience you say?
TestYes, every Skill Set has a set amount of experience required before you can reach the next “Mastery Level”. For each 100 experience you gain in a single Skill Set you gain a Mastery Level. Mastery Levels go from levels 0 through 4, though in some very rare circumstances a character may be able to transcend above that limit. Read up on each Skill Set to understand what you can and cannot do at each Mastery Level.
How do I gain experience?
TestBy roleplaying on Ravare you gain experience from every post you make. Even posts you make that do not occur on Ravare can grant experience. An example of this is a detailed history transferred over from another place of roleplay. Every post you make will be grading by the staff team to insure you gain at least 10 experience per post. But like everything on Ravare more is better so the longer, and more detailed, the post you make the more experience you will gain from it. Please not however that you can only gain experience in Skill Sets you actively use in your post. If you believe you have been granted an unfair amount of experience for a post please inform a staff member not involved in the thread.
Is there a limit?
TestNot a single one. Any character you create can successfully master any and all Skill Sets if they put the efficient amount of time into the Skill Sets in question. However, the experience you gain cannot be transferred to any other character unless done in a roleplay fashion. An example of this is your memories being stolen might lead to some experience transferal from the victim to the thief.
